It's that time of year again, when we're supposed to give presents... when we're suppossed to forgive and forget... Yes, you can feel that the spirit of Christmas is in the air

...yeah right!!!

What part of Christmas FORCES you to celebrate in a manner you don't want to? Picture this:  you MUST attend a Christmas party, else your superiors will penalize you.  And as if that's not enough, you must also put up decorations "in the spirit of Christmas" - else pay a fine...

GOD!!! YOU ARE SO EFFING STUPID!!!  YOU'RE NOT SATISFIED WITH RUINING MY EVERYDAY LIFE, YOU WON'T EVEN SPARE ME THIS CHRISTMAS???  YOU IMPOSE SO MANY REQUIREMENTS, BUT ONLY A FEW ARE LOGICAL...  SO UNPREDICTABLE...X-(

You really are inverted dogs... that's why you act like gods...  NEWSFLASH: YOU'RE NOT!!! You're just mere human beings, not as infallible as you make yourselves believe you are...  That's why only a few attend your activities: because they also realize this.  To those who do attend, they only do it either out of fear, or out of blind obedience...

And as if that's not enough....

There's this certain guy who cosplayed as HG in a recent convention.  It would be all well and good if it was just as simple as that, but it's not:  HE COSPLAYED IN AN EVENT ORGANIZED BY DEFILERS - BY HERETICS!!!  THE ONES IN CHARGE OF THAT EVENT ARE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT STAIN THE SANCTITY OF ANIME... X-(

The bastard obviously didn't see the potential of such act:  now I won't be surprised and enraged when I see a Jigokugakure (as I like to call the Recycling Center of SE Asia) version of HG on TV - I'll just be plain enraged X-(X-(

Worse?  He crossed my personal line: I am the one - AND THE ONLY - HAADO GEI IV B-)X-(

*sigh* I can only hope that something REALLY good will happen this season, else this is probably going to be my worst Christmas ever...

Finally, Sem Break...  But before everything else, a summary of what happened since my last post:

Me and my Sakura-tan are 75% legal - both our parents are aware, but only mine gave the go signal XD Oh well, I'm not one to complain - it's better this way now :D  We've also celebrated our second monthsary, and here's to going strong.

And of course, with the end of the semester comes the final examinations.  I'm proud to say that I've already met the quota of all my subjects even without taking my final exams.  So basically, I'll still pass even if I don't take them - I'll get a grade of flat 3 XD

As the semester ends, so approaches the beginning of a new one, which means another enrollment.  I've already applied for a student assistant there again, accomplished & submitted the form and everything.  I've also invited my fellow active takus, especially the active ones, so we dominate the enrollment :D  The food & drinks are provided for, whole day air-con, and the best part : we get paid XD  However, according to *** (I'm refraining from speaking "bad words" >:)), they'll just contact those whom they've accepted.. Why am I not surprised at such a system....

Speaking of my fellow taku members, those of them who don't have any more final exams went out last Friday.  Full details are here: http://steiner3989.multiply.com/photos/album/46/TomasinOtaku_Gimmick_Mega_Mall  Too bad - I still had exams the following day, and it was the hardest of all my current subjects: DSP

And after a very very long wait, I've finally managed to play Rockman ZX on a DS - ariGEIto goSEImasu, Fade.  As a Rockman otaku, this is one big favor i'll never forget...

While we're at it: what would you do if you walked into a mall, heard screams, followed the voices to the source, only to find the "grand launch" of the lowest-rate trying hard Shaider version???  The moment I saw the tarpaulin, I was imagining that I transformed into Shaider, jumped to the stage, drew my sword, and started beheading all those defilers and desecrators... But what really ticked me of, was the number of people that actually supported this crap... I pity them, for they are blinded and exploited by "the powers that be"...

And on the same note: http://www.gameops.net/2007/07/abs-cbn-to-remake-hikari-sentai-maskman.html

Here's my middle fingers to those two channels.... Consider it a my token of appreciation for destroying the epic of Shaider and Maskman....

セイ セイ セイ!!

Those who watch the DB fansubs of Shippuuden might have already noticed the comment at the end of the ep26 OP.  The first time I saw it, I was wondering myself what it meant - so I contacted DB to inquire.  The following day, there was a press release concerning the matter - apparently, there were many more that were just as intrigued as I was about the comment.  For more details, go to http://dattebayo.com/pr/43

Here's to hoping that vid is indeed done by ABS, and not by another party...

And as if that wasn't enough, I have also see the forerunner of the apocalypse: The Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu Hare Hare Yukai Cebu Prison Dance...  It is a glimpse of one of the infinitely many horrible things local Philippine TV will do once they get the anime: make money out of the dance... Ah, I can see it now: Hare Hare Yukai being danced in Wowowee... and under a new name, of course....

OK - enough about anime for now.  I've gotten most of the results of my preliminary exams, and have computed for my preliminary standing.  So far, so good.  As for those without the results yet, the profs have already told us the correct answers.  From that I made an estimate of the least I need to score, so I'll still pass... Of course, if I scored higher then all the better - though that's a little bit far off... I know best how I performed in the tests...

I also noticed that my school shoes were not looking so good anymore: the "abuses" I've put on it through the years are really making their premanent marks.  And whehter by coincidence or not, I just found out that a nearby mall in my house is having s 3-day sale - thanks to my mom.  She was even the one who told me if I wanted to go buy a new pair now, and so I did.  After about two hours of looking for high-quality & affordable shoes, ans zigzagging through the crowd of potatoes/shoppers (this is the problem with sales - they're so goddamn suffocatiing...), I have my new pair now - ready to be worn when my old ones finally give up :P

Well, it's been a REALLY long time since I last blogged.  A lot of things happened - I still do have a life outside the internet :P

Ok first of, the best thing that happened since my last post: I am now officially in a relationship!  To all my "fans", sorry but there's no more line - but you can keep being my fans if you like B-).  Sakura-tan is what I call her, and she calls me Yukito/Anata.  If you ask any further, imagonnahavtopackyourealquickly >:)

Now for other matters: TomasinOtaku, my org, and UST's official Japanese Culture org, has successfully recruited around 525 PAID members - a LOT more than the previous two years.  We have successfully held our General Assembly (GA for short), and now we're working on the Nihongo 101 Seminar Seessions and the book launching of "Into the Country of Standing Men" by Ray Ventura.  It's all about being a Filipino in Japan, disguised as a fictitous novel.

But it's not all success and plusses: there're also some downsides & dissappointments.  To make a long story short, this is probably the most controversial year of the org, if the admin is involved (quoted from Yuki-tan).  But I think the most controversial is still the 1st yr, with all that happened... Ok I won't go any further...

And now here I am writing a new entry, while in the middle of the EXTENDED prelims week.  Well, given that it's nobody's fault if it rains (except if its cloud seeding).  But the administration should have seen this coming, and moved the exams week to later dates.  I mean, common sense - whenever there're typhoons, there's always a chance of suspension of classess.  And this is the worst possible time to suspend, in the middle of the preliminary exams week.  I've already missed 3 exams because of this suspensions, and I don't like it one bit.  I would like to deal with my "suffering" here and now, rather than put it off...  What could the admin be thinking of not moving the exams week, I have completely no idea... Don't get me wrong, though - I'm still studying even though there's a chance of no classes.  It's still only a chance, so I'm just playing it safe.  Though I am currently stuck on solving the sample problems.... Well, if ever tomorrow's also moved then there'll be less studying/cramming to do :D

And speaking of admin, I just received word from a friend who's part of the Engineering Student Council (ESC for short).  He told us that the dean's decision to make all majoring students (3rd-5th yrs) have their classes on PM sched is final, starting next semester.  YOU IDEALISTIC *#&$@*#&@) CARRIAGE HORSE!!! YOU ONLY SEE STRAIGHT AHEAD AND FAIL TO SEE THE SIDELINES!!!  We were most probably better off with our old one, even though she was very hard to find and very meticulous about English & grammar...  And sad to say, this very same friend of mine told me that the ESC does not have the power to change that decision; the best that it could do is deliver the students' grievances...

And now it's time for anime talk: I HATE YOU GMA!!! FCUK YOU!!! BLEACH WAS ALREADY INTOLERABLE, AND NOW YOU PLAN TO DO THE SAME TO DEATH NOTE??? For further details, go here: http://princessreaper.multiply.com/journal/item/28?mark_read=princessreaper:journal:28  I share the same sentiments with the author, even though I don't know her... Just goes to show how anime can unite different people, but at the same time make them enemies... Oh - I almost forgot: FCUK U TOO, ABS, QTV, and  H*R*!!! Don't any of you even THINK of making money out Hare Hare Yukai...

There's this one message board that I "infiltrate" on a daily basis; it's pro-dubber.  Since it's set to only be viewed by registered members, I take snapshots of the posts there that show just how STUPID, RETARDED, BLIND, and most importantly DEAF they are... what's worse is that they started a topic there that made it my personal business to hunt each one of them and packemrealquickly...

Only two more days (including this one) and it's back to school for me.  If there's anything I'm looking forward to this year, it's that feeling of having a fresh start: most, if not everything, is back to zero.  A chance to further pursue excellence and make sure mistakes are not repeated.  Sure, I'm also looking forward to seeing friends and faces I've barely seen this past two months.

My schedule is ok - the only problem is the subjects: I've got one laboratory each day for four consecutive days, starting from Day 1.  On the average, I have 6 hours of classes a day.  It's not that bad, I think.  Oh well - I guess only time will tell.

These past few days, I've been duing the last bit of my Student Assistant duties in the enrollment.  I'm simply amazed by how many students are still having pre-enrollment forms printed, even though it's already the last day.  Then I learned that most of them were for promisory notes.  I was wondering why would they apply for I.O.U.s if the colleges have already declared the tuition fees.  The only answer I could come up was: the tuition fees were suddenly increased >:)

Being a Student Assistant is not without its perks: we're paid 250/day, plus overtime charge per hour when applicable, and food is free (probably why we're only given 250).  But what really keeps me going is the chances of meeting some of the universities chicks :P  Hey - I'm still a guy, after all XD

Here's to a new school year!!!

WARNING: rant entry

It's been about a month since my last post.  I've been busy trying to beat the summer heat, doing whatever so I wouldn't notice it.  Well, I did two days of my student assistant duties for the late freshmen enrollment.  Since it's air-con in there, I'm not complaining even if it gets busy.  This time around my duty is information; I answer any questions the students or the parents may ask.

I can now really say that my college administration is indeed the slowest encoders among the all colleges in the university.  I mean, sure - the registrar's and the treasurer's may be at fault, but they don't come into play until after the student's data has been encoded.  I really feel sorry for the freshmen, especially when I have to tell them to go all the way to the main building or to the college to follow-up their encoding when it's HOT out there...

On the other days I'm not in the enrollment, I just surf the web and play Ragnarok.  I've come across two local online anime communities, and I was prooven right by the rampant support and tolerance of these communities to pirated media.  This is the will of the people/otakus: they aren't satisfied with what is provided by the local and cable anime TV (though it's another matter if it's porn or hentai).  But as much as I am happy to hear this, there is the part of me that is disappointed; no matter how you will look at it, support for pirated items will ruin the industry...

I've also been doing some thinking to help pass some time; about the mentality that "anime is only for kids" and about fanservice.  Any self-respecting otaku will deny that anime is ONLY for kids.  S/he is aware of the different anime genre, and the age groups that they are intended for.  If anime is indeed only for kids, why are there fanservices?  I'm thinking that the only way to proove this otherwise is to air uncensored and/or uncut non-child oriented anime on primetime...

And speaking of fanservices, why would one censor/cut it out?  From the term itself, it means "service to the fans".  It is the artists' expression of gratitude to their viewers for watching their work...

*sigh*

オッケ~! It's been a while since I posted, so this might be a long one

First, I took care of my student assistant duties at the freshmen enrollment.  It's all about the cash and the chicks, baby!  Sure, I saw many babes and took note of them.  But among all of those, there are three whom I noted in more detail: one is an old acquaintance - someone who I haven't had contact in about two years.  The other two are half-Japanese beauties.  I won't be telling any further details, for the sake of these ladies - and mine as well.  But I am definitely going to invite all of them to join my organization (for those who don't know, this isn't a fraternity or anything like that)

On the last day of the enrollment, we were served with spoiled meat.  How did we know it was spoiled?  We realized the moment we smelt the food.  So what did the superiors do? They ordered take-out chicken - 1 piece for each of us - to make up for it.  Talk about payback!!

But there is one thing in the enrollment that pissess me off: it's how people don't follow directions.  It says clearly "Accomplish the form", but some people are either dense or just plain stupid: no signatures, no name, heck - one even tried to submit a completely unaccomplished form.  Too bad for them - it's their loss, not mine.  It really pisses me off because this isn't the first time it happened; heck - it happens in even more serious matters.  Apparently, most of the people here are raised not to follow the directions.  That's probably why we're the 2006 most corrupt country - the people don't give a damn about the rules.

I have also prooven that my college is the SLOOOOOOOOOOWEST among all the others in the campus when it comes to student data encoding.  The administration is suppossed to encode the student's schedule into the main server, and that data will reflect to us in our laptops.  I feel sorry for the freshmen of my college - most of them had to go all the way to the Dean's office to follow-up their encoding, but it's about a 20-minute walk under the blazing sun from the enrollment.  To those who do have their data encoded, some data were missing.  In particular, the schedule of two minor subjects: Values Education and Theology.  And these aren't just ANY minor subjects: these are minor subjects that feel like major subjects.  Heck - they shouldn't even be part of the curriculum.  I mean, what kind of sane 16-year old would care for such subjects?  It's like they're spending money so they can sleep in the class.  One parent actually came to me, asking to check if his son's data has already been encoded.  I checked, but nothing.  I told him "The people there work really slow, sir.  Take it from me - I've been there for three years now."  He replied "Take it from me?  I graduated from there, and I don't see much of an improvement in the system."

It may not be a sure shot, but I figured out a way to keep my brother from downloading garbage unto the PC

It all started when I was downloading Fate/Stay Night from #eclipse.  I started the download, left it, and slept the heat of the afternoon.  I came back after waking up, only to find that I've been banned from the Rizon network.  It's saying "open proxy" or something - I don't really understand.  Anyway, it recomended me to run a full anti-spyware scan on my system.  I stayed sitted all thoughout the scan process, in case someone tries to do something stupid with the PC while it's being scanned.  I'm taking glimpses every now and then, to see how much longer the scan process will take.  Good thing I was doing so: I caught it scanning the Program Files, among which was the BitComet folder - and under it, the Torrents Folder.  Lo and behold - goobye, English Pokemon torrents.  I'm still not sure if this method works, but there's a way to find out if it doesn't: if and when I catch even the slightest hint of an English Pokemon being played in the PC, I'll have to figure out something else.

At last!!! Holy Week's over!!!

It may be too late to say that now already, but this is one of my most hated time of the year - no offense meant to believers.  I mean, not only is it sweltering in my room, all five of us are at home.  It's not that I've got anything against my family being together and everything; just that I feel suffocated with everyone around.  And my brother picked a fine time to crash and the PS2 to malfunction: now we're "'sharing'" (emphasis on the triple quotes) the PC and her broadband bandwidth.  He's using it to download all the crappy English Pokemon movies, while there are better things to be downloaded out there.  Though everytime I get to use the PC, I log him off - and all others - so my downloads get all the bandwidth.  This is only a temporary solution, though; I'm trying to figure out a way to prevent him from downloading anything that tarnishes the virginity of the PC *ehemdubbedanimeandcartoonsehem*.  I've tried setting the quota limit (1 GB per person xD), but it turns out he can't log in his user account if I do so.  He logs in as a guest, though he can only surf the net if he does; he can't use his torrent client because he protected his account from sharing.  But his surfing still eats up precious bandwidth, especially when he's surfing YouTube...

This makes me believe in the saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks".  Well, it probably might not be tricks, but it's already too late to make my brother realize that dubbed anime can never be better than the original Japanese.  Just he wait: when I found out how to enter his account, I will exorcise the PC >:)

Today, I started my duties as a Student Assistant in the Summer Enrollment.  I was really excited that I had trouble sleeping the fortnight, and ended up in a state of half-sleep in the middle of my morning ceremonies.  Our call time was 7:30 AM, and I was there at around 7.  I shouldn't have got my hopes up; even though it is the central administrative body already, nothing - and do I mean NOTHING - follows the agreed time here.  7:30 am came and went, and we were still waiting for our instructions.  It was already past 8am when we finally started doing anything.  Even in the simplest clasroom group meetings: the time agreed by the group to meet is actually the time most - if not all - members will only start moving.  That is why you have to set the meeting time at least one hour earlier than your actual target.

I was handling printing of registration forms during the first hour, but then our head suddenly came up to me and asked if I knew where the Dean's offices of the College of Science was.  I answered I did, and she told me to come with her - instructing others to cover my post while I'm away.  I followed her to the Accounting office, where I was taken into a small records room.  In there were boxes and boxes of Red Ribbon, and one big box of Goldilocks.  I was instructed to deliver that and one Red Ribbon box to the Dean's office.  At that time I thought that it wasn't much of a big deal, and that I may get extra credit from this.  So I went ahead and delivered the boxes.  I returned, only to be instructed to deliver the remaining boxes to all the other reamining Dean's Offices - Pay High School, Accountancy, Education, Music, and Engineering.  It took me two return trips to the office, since I couldn't possibly carry all of them as I walk around the campus.  I returned straight to the enrollment venue, where I found her and reported that I've finished delivering the boxes.  I returned to my post, only to find out that it's been changed to pre-enrollement - which is what I handled for the remainder of the day.  Good thing that the snacks and lunch are already provided, so we don't need to bring in our own - we weren't allowed to go out except for bathroom breaks.

If there's one thing I've learned already, it's that the people at the Dean's Offices of the various colleges in the university encode slowly.  And do I mean SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOWLY - I had one student coming back to me 5 times, every hour - and the database says he's still not advised; we can't print any registration forms or pre-enrollment forms otherwise.

I'll only be doing this until the 12th for now, then again during the freshmen enrollment and one last time during the senior (higher years) enrollment.  According to a senior S.A., we're lucky if we get our wages as late as July T_T

Well, my HG henna on each arm are finally starting to fade... it has been past a week since I got them.

Yesterday I watched TMNT with my family.  It wasn't that very good of a plot, and it requires the audience to have some background of the original story.  It's more of a sequel, in fact.  There were only two things that really caught my attention: General Aguila (yes, it's because of the name) with his swallow-like weapon (those who've played FFIX and Chrono Cross, think 'Zidane' and 'Serge' here), and Master Splinter saying "Chotto Matte".  The movie went on until the ending credits roll, and the first few words of the ending song reminded me of something: whatever happened to Rocksteady and Beebop? :P

I'm still organizing my files here with the PC.  I've just finished downloading all Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu episodes, upon the request of my friend and fellow EroRanger EroDaime.  I'm currently completing Akane Maniax, so I can put them together with Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien in one DVD - they are related after all.

オッケ~! Finally! Exams are over! Hello vacation!!

...Or at least, I hope.  Those who know me might ridicule me for this, but even I am a just a student who also can also feel worry.  I'm not as bright as others might give me credit.  But enough about that - everything will be settled tomorrow, and hopefully I'll also find out my tuition fee for next year.

Speaking of which, I've also applied as a student assistant this coming enrollment.  Hopefully, I'll be accepted - then I can place "Assessed/Encoded by HG" on everyone's registration forms フォ~.  The best part, I get paid - though it's going to be about 2-3 weeks after the last day, and that's around the start of classes.

Yesterday, I went to an anime event entitled "Natsu No Hibi" - one of the organizers is a friend of mine, who invited me and a few others.  There was a cosplay group named Team Illusion, who dressed up as the Hunter X Hunter Genei Ryodan group, minus Pakunoda (damn - she's the one I immediately looked for the moment I saw Kuroro).  Included in the team are Killua, Gon, and Reorio.  There's also a solo performance of an Arlong (from One Piece), who also happened to be the winner with his breakdance performance.  BTW, there's also a henna booth there, where I had an HG-Death Note placed on each of my wrists - H on the right, G on the left.

*sigh* It's really hard if your parents are old-fashioned.  I'm planning to have a leather spandex suit made this summer. You know - THAT rivetted leather spandex suit.  I've asked them to give me some money now for it and I'll pay them later, but they refused after seing the spandex - they haven't even seen his lower half! If they did, that'll explain it: if I'd have let them see it, I'm an idiot.  They even disapprooved of the HG henna I got, though they couldn't much about it.  But still... and I was looking forward to cosplaying in the next event - you know whom I'll be cosplaying as *ehemhgehem*

As usual, today had its ups and downs.  It started with my group's scheduled report on a power amplifier circuit.  The professor said "the design was wrong", but it couldn't be since we got it from a magazine.  It was published, therefore it should work.  I'm guessing he's talking about the design calculations.  After all, it was our first time to encounter a power amplifier so we wouldn't know what it was.  We just followed the computations of our seniors, but we misinterpreted the variables.  But we were able to handle the other aspects of report properly.

Next subject was Engineering Economy.  As usual, it's a two-hour boredom session.  At least I'm able to listen to the lecture for about an hour before I totally loose interest - the others fall asleep in the first five minutes.  I'm so bored that I scribbled HARD GAY, ハードゲイ, and レーザーラモン in my book.  Oh well - I've been doing satisfactory relying only on the book so far, so I'm confident that I'll understand the lecture better if I read the book.

Then it was laboratory.  We almost got away with the scheduled quiz, if it hadn't been for someone who reminded it to the professor by asking if there was one.  Oh well - on with the quiz!  It was only a short one - 4 questions, 2 about Op Amps, 2 about Comparators.  I was able to get two of them - the other two were plain dumbness.  I used the wrong formula on the first, and on the second I forgot a very important concept.  So it's on with the experiment - Differentiator and Integrator circuits.  We were able to finish it just in the nick of time.  This time it was my turn again to write the post lab report, so I took the data home, set it aside, and will work on it on the weekend :P

After school, I had the Hard Gay Kakashi pin I edited made.  Then I went back to school into our org room, where I saw my fellow numbers 002 and 009.  009 has a strap bag with anime chibi pins covering the entire length of the strap, so I thought of trying to plant the HG Kakashi pin there.  Sadly, he caught me and 002 doing it :(.  Instead, I changed the pose of 006's chibi Gundam into an HG pose - I can't wait to see his reaction to this tomorrow (evil)

I also took care of our line-up for the dodgeball tournament this coming Sunday.  The team must be composed of 6-10 members, and can be all guys, all girls, or Co-Ed.  So far it's an all guys team of 7 members, so I decided on the team name "Young Man". :D  However, there are three girls who want to join in the team as well.  I have nothing against them joining, but it seems the others have an issue.  I couldn't resolve this at the time, so I left it at that for now.
